We've given ourselves a GREAT chance of a RECORD turn out too, by choosing our natural AL East rival of the New York Yankees for Top Off.
I also have a new fear this year. This year I am worried about a new kind of complacency. I'm afraid that many Pinellas residents have “thrown in the towel” when it
comes to the Rays attendance challenge and that Hillsborough residents feel
their support may keep the team from crossing the bridge. Well as of now folks
there is no stadium being planned, let alone built and we simply cannot let this kind of thinking stand.
We really got the Rays attention last year. We have 3000+
Facebook friends. This year we will have more freedom and support to build a
better Top Off The Trop than last year. We will have a specifically made “Top
Off The Trop” hat for our giveaway and we’ve chosen a game that is SURE to
gather more interest than the Rangers last year. Top Off will kick off on Thursday April 17th when the New
York Yankees first come to town for the 2014 season. It’s Jeter’s swan song
and what better way to come show your appreciation for the Tampa native than to
be there for his first game back at the Trop in 2014.
The deal is very similar to last years: $30 a ticket includes a lower level seat to see Rays v Yanks
and a free Rays hat. THAT'S A $70 value and we will have access to seats even closer to the action than last year! And for you businesses or groups who don't want to tackle the whole bill? We've learned a lot in how other groups and organizations tackled TOTT last year. Many organizations have put together groups at
no actual expense to their business. They find the biggest Rays fan in their
group to distribute “Top Off” sign ups and to collect funds. That way the group
and your organization still gets the benefit of our PR and the great deal ---
but you can cater the game plan to those who really want to go.
More information will be forthcoming on our blog but for now be thinking of whom you know that would enjoy Top Off The Trop. We have the makings this year for something even more special than the 2,000 fans we brought last year.
